Penn Walker knows he has to let go of the woman he loves in order to protect/save her. He has managed to find Savannah but his heart misses Cora and he knows he is doign the right thing.
Cora Guerrero was given the amount of money she needed to escape her from under the now deceased Guerrero brothers but she realizes the nightmare is not over after she has a run in with Thomas Lyons. Thomas is after his ex-wife Catalina Guerrero Lyons and won't stop until he has her.
Can Cora manage to stay ahead of Thomas and will Penn come back of Cora is in danger? Will Cora forgive Penn for faking his death to protect her?
This was such a great ending that had so many twists and turns that I was never sure how things were going to work out.
I understood why Penn made the choices that he did but I knew it was not going to be easy for him to stay away from Cora. I loved how he really helped Savannah and was there for her through everything. He cared so much about Cora and the girls that he risked everything but he knew that he still had Drew to watch over Cora.
Cora was devastated with the "death" of Penn and she had to carry on for River and the rest of the girls. I was so proud of Cora and how she really tried to help the girls out of their situations but she wanted them drug and alcohol free.
I was completely shocked at the twist at the beginning of the book with Cora and River. I was so mad at Thomas and was freaking out with what was going to happen to Cora. I was proud of Cora's actions but I was worried about her safety once I knew she was going to be with Catalina.
I loved the revelation and everything that came about - it was awesome! Then the action increased more but so did all of the tension. The talks between Cora and Penn were intense and you never completely knew what was going to come out of them due to everything that had happened and all of the secrets.
I loved the chemistry between Penn and Cora and knew above all they really did love each other.
The end was super intense and I was blindsided about who was working with who! Such a great scene!!
