Lawson O'Neil is 18 when his mom dies and he and his younger brother Drew, 15, go find his father Jaxon. He has a whole list of things he is planning on saying but when he discovers his father had no idea he even existed and welcomes him with open arms he is surprised and shocked. Delilah Donovan and her brother, Samson, were adopted by Jaxon and Rob and raised within the compound of the Cerbus MC. She and her fathers are extremely close and she is shocked with the arrival of Lawson out of the blue, especially with the notion that Jaxon would have not helped Lawson. As much as Lawson tries to be the tough guy there is something about Delilah that brings him in and makes him want to be a better guy but has the damage already been done? When Drew makes a decision that impacts Lawson both leave but will Lawson be able to move on from Delilah? This was a great book and I am definitely disappointed that I somehow missed reading Snatch. I will definitely have to pick that up soon! Lawson was such an angry young man but it made sense after learning about his past. I could understand how disappointed he was to have his dad not around while he was growing up and think he didn't care at all. When he arrived at Jaxon's he was so troubled but Jaxon never gave up on him and we learned about how close they eventually got. I loved how he got himself focused and changed to be the man that Delilah needed him to be. Delilah was a great character and I loved her growth and then the downward kind of spiral she did after she went to university. When she realizes how close Lawson was to her she is frustrated with her dad, especially when Jaxon never mentions anything. I loved the evolution of Delilah and Lawson and how they went from frenemies to something more. They had so many ups and downs but there was so much love between them and so much growing that they each had to do. The two of them had so much sexual tension and were hot together!! I truly loved how Jaxon and Rob both knew so much about Delilah and Lawson and how they cared about each other and how they needed to be patient with everything. There was tension when we learn about the Ravens Ruins MC and I would love to have more of them in the future! I am really looking forward to more of this new series! 4.5 Stars |
