Brooklyn Bailey is 26 years old and has just been dumped via text on the day of her wedding. Now she is angry and ready to move on and that means clearing out her ex's stuff out of their apartment but when she unexpectedly throws a book that hits her hot new neighbor she knows things are not looking up.
Soon Brooklyn finds herself confiding in her new neighbor, Wyatt Moore and the two begin spending more time together until she discovers he's actually her new boss at the Glacier Point Resort. When the two begin spending more time together deals are brokered and secrets are let out.
Will Brooklyn find what she has been missing or will spending time with Wyatt only lead to more heartbreak?
This was another amazing book that is filled with so many laughs and so many heartbreaking moments that leave you wanting so many more pages as you never want the story to end.
Brooklyn was just such an amazing and awesome character. I was so sad she got dumped via text on her wedding day and I seriously wanted to punch her ex, Jeff, for doing that to her. I love her family and seriously want to be adopted into them. This is one of those families that keeps you in stitches through the book. I was so happy when she decided to go on the honeymoon but then was totally shocked but really happy with what the security woman did!!
Wyatt was one of those complex characters as he needed to prove something to his dad yet he was following a dream that revolved around him needing to prove himself instead of following his own dreams. I liked that he was there for Brooklyn and kept her secrets for as long as he could but things changed when he was confronted by Rome.
It was interesting to watch things develop between Wyatt and Brooklyn especially when he was holding some pretty big secrets from Brooklyn. I loved watching the two get closer and how they made some deals to help each other out - Brooklyn with her company and Wyatt with a date to his sister's wedding.
I was so mad at several characters in the book especially Jeff and then also Wyatt's dad Abe. Each were such jerks and I was mad at both of them several times during the book.
As mentioned I truly love Brooklyn's family and what each of them bring into the family dynamics. Grandma Dori is just a blast and so much fun yet she is also so insightful and says it as it is and I loved that.
I really understood why Brooklyn wasn't willing to sacrifice her happiness at the end of the book after everything she and her family had been through. I knew that Wyatt had to really figure out what he needed and what was most important to him before he could be happy and I loved the wisdom his mom gave him.
The very end of the book was so great and I did a little happy dance at how it all worked out!
The epilogue was absolutely jaw-dropping and I can't wait for the next book!!
5 Stars
