Jude Morris is the medic and quiet guy from Blackbridge Security. He is best friends with Quinton and when Quinton is forced to teach a class on firearms to vulnerable women, Jude is forced to tag along to the first class.
Parker Maxwell isn't considered a vulnerable woman but her best friend Hayden refuses to attend the classes with her. Parker is shocked to find herself attracted to Jude but has no interest in a real relationship.
Yet after Parker and Jude spend one night together each are looking for a little bit more but Parker wants only physical and is not interested in anything serious.
When Parker finds herself the victim of some crimes she believes she knows who is to blame but she refuses to let Jude in. Can Jude keep her safe without jeopardizing his own heart?
This was such a great book and I was hooked from start to finish.
I loved Jude and I was ready for his story as he was the quiet one and soon we learn how good of a guy he truly was. I got why he was wanting more with Parker as he truly cared about her and knew he could be there for her. Yet there was also only so much that Jude could take and you finally see him break.
Parker was someone that I wanted to smack so many times. I knew she was a great friend to Hayden but when she started having some issues with an unknown man she began to pull away. I knew Parker wanted more but due to her own past she really struggled with her self-worth and with that she constantly pushed Jude away whenever he got to close.
When things slowly came out about her past and the pieces started falling into place I was mad that Parker still didn't go to Jude. I knew why Jude was still there for her at the end but I was proud of him for recognizing that he couldn't do it anymore.
The end when Parker finally puts herself together made me so happy and I was so proud of her!!
The next book looks super interesting with Gage Ward!
