My review of Glass Heart Savage by Lindsay Iler

Palmer Weston attends Glass Heart Academy but has tried to hide in the shadows of her older sister Reed, until Reed disappeared mysteriously a year ago. Since then, 3 other girls have vanished and Palmer finds herself hated by many but suddenly on the radar of the Glass House Boys who run the Academy.

Marek Hawthorne is one of the Glass House Boys and will do whatever he can to make Palmer his own toy. He was very close to her sister, Reed, and knows that someone is trying to get to Palmer but he will do what he can to keep her safe.

Yet that doesn't mean that Marek will make Palmer's life easier as what fun is it unless you get to play with your toys?

OMG - this was seriously one of the best books that I have read this year!!

This book sucked me in right from the beginning and I couldn't put it down until the end when I didn't want to put it down as I needed the next book right away!! I don't want to wait to find out what happens!

I love Palmer and my heart broke for her living in her sister's shadow and how she was treated by others. I loved her friendship with Delaney and I am so glad that she had her to turn to at certain times during this book. Palmer was naive to a certain extent but still had a side to her that nobody else had seen that was stronger than anyone could have realized and yet fragile at the same time. She took so much abuse during this book and I hated how she was treated by her parents, especially after one particular scene.

Palmer wanted to feel needed and the stuff with the Glass House Boys both challenged her and destroyed her at the same time. I was shocked at everything they all dished out to her and I just couldn't believe that she didn't just run far away from everything and to a different town to escape it all.

The Glass House Boys included Marek Hawthorne, Byron, Dixon and Barrett "Breaker" Davenport. Each of them seem to have a deep seated hate for Palmer but some more than others. It was interesting as we slowly got to know the boys and realize how they seem to share girls and some of them like it quite rough. Yet at the odd time you got a softer side of each of them but then it would just flip outside down and some of the stuff that happened absolutely shocked me.

In this book we got to know Marek the most and he is one of those characters that make you feel like you are on the ultimate see-saw with how you felt about him. I would like him and then he would do something so cruel so I would hate him again. I could tell how protective he was over Palmer and how he didn't want anyone else to touch her but every time you saw a glimpse of goodness he would do something that was even worse than before.

Yet there was also something else going on behind the scenes that made me think that there was truly someone else out there that wanted Palmer either to kill her or take her but they would get interrupted.

There was a certain scene on a roof that just made my jaw drop and I had no idea what was really going on and how far certain characters were going to take everything. I felt like I was missing something huge for their to be so much hatred directed to Palmer and I really hope that the next book fills in the gap more for me than just the loss of Reed.

I loved the bond at the end between Breaker and Palmer and how she slowly began to heal. I loved how she expressed herself at the end of the book and I definitely was not expecting the stuff with Marek!!

I can't wait for the next book as this book was just so absolutely incredible!!!
