Carrie Bishop has come to Lake Tahoe after a bad breakup and
is ready to get focused on her job as a recreation director at Lake Tahoe
Resort and Casino but knows it is coming to an end when the hotel is sold. She
heads to Las Vegas for a girls weekend when she is saved by a hot guy who helps
her get away from a guy who is a little to hands on for her liking.
The night ends up being one of the best she has ever had but
in the morning she finds herself with a ring on her finger and no groom in
sight.
Yet Monday morning she discovers that her new husband is her
new boss, James Arden and he’s right about to fire her!
This is another great book by this author and I continually
laugh my way through her books!
I really liked Carrie and I loved that she moved clear
across the country to begin her life again after catching her ex cheating on
her. I liked that she was really trying to experience Vegas and I loved the
idea of a scavenger hunt and I definitely think I need to do one next time I go
down there.
James was a wonderful character and I loved the way he took
Carrie under his wing and showed her all the sights of Vegas and stuck with her
when she got separated from her friends. He was someone who really cared about his
family and I was shocked at how far he went for his sister, Suzanne, to have
her wedding where she did.
I loved when James and Carrie realized who the other was and
the different reactions that each of them had. There were so many moments that
made me laugh as Carrie didn’t want to be married to the boss but she also didn’t
want to be fired either.
It was interesting to learn about the past relationships of
both Carrie and James and how that played a role in what both were currently
going through. I absolutely hated Lynn, James’ ex, but I could understand how
Suzanne was still friends with her when she never knew the truth about events.
I was so happy after James talked to Jack and he realized
everything that he had to do in order to keep Carrie!
The epilogue was awesome and I loved the way it ended and
really tied into the beginning of the book!
