Geneva Behzadi Rawley has had an issue with drinking for so many years but when her cousin, Brennan Rawley, talks to her about it she tells him she can get clean whenever she wants. She has made mistakes in the past and finds solace in drinking and trying to forget.
Rhys Connor runs a boxing gym and is a recovering alcoholic . He is approached by Brennan to help his cousin but he has no idea who she is.
When Geneva steps into Rhys's gym she vows to herself that she can get clean and not let him know who she is. But secrets always come out but will they be on Geneva's terms and when the truth comes out will she turn to Rhys or the bottle?
This was a great book about coming clean with yourself and facing your problems head on.
It was obvious right from the beginning that Geneva had huge issues. By all accounts she should have a successful life but she was ruining friendships and her life due to her problems with alcohol. Then she managed to get herself clean only to find herself in a bad relationship where she began drinking again and after her accident she turned to the alcohol as well. She owed Mildred so much for helping her cope with it all and saving her butt so many times.
I liked Rhys a lot and it was apparent how much he had been through as well but he found a way to get himself clean and really knew that he couldn't do it on his own. I liked that he created a place that gave others recovering an outlet and a safe spot to be. He was an honest guy and wanted honesty in return from those around him.
I knew that Rhys would be so disappointed when the truth was revealed but I loved how he forced her to get healthy for the right reasons! That was such a wake up call for Geneva and I loved how she dealt with it all!
Such a great book and I look forward to more in the series!
