My review of Befallen by Dr. Rebecca Sharp

Cambria "Cammie" Mariano went away to become a massage therapist but after an event occurred she came back a shell of the person she was once. Now she helps her mom in the family bakery and struggles to find normalcy in her life.

Bennett Covington dated Cammie in high school and even back them knew that she was his forever. Yet when she returns to Caramel Cove she continually avoids him and Bennett can't figure out what he has done wrong and what it's going to take for Cammie to talk to him again.

When Cammie ends up joining a self defense class that Bennett ends up teaching she reluctanrtly agrees to keep taking the class. Slowly Bennett begins to get through to Cammie but will she ever open up to him and give him a chance to prove himself?

This is another awesome book in the series and this one tackles a super difficult subject. One thing I really liked is that nothing felt "fake" about what Cammie went through and I was proud of her for seeking assistance from Dr. Shelly and slowly opening up to more people about what she went through.

Cammie had been a vibrant person but in an instant everything changed and she was scared to say a word about what she had been through. She eventually told her mom but other than her and Dr. Shelly, she kept everything quiet as she was ashamed. I hated that Cammie lost her security and more importantly her dream.

Bennett was an incredible guy who had been waiting for Cammie. He hadn't been avoiding relationships but he knew that Cammie was the girl that he wanted long term. He was doing his brothers a huge favor by teaching the self-defense course as he recently bought the pub in town and was running that full time.

There was so much obvious connection and chemistry between Cammie and Bennett but obviously Cammie was reluctant to get involved with anyone after what she had been through. I was happy when she slowly began spending more time with Bennett and trusting him.

The interaction between Amy and Cammie was interesting as you could see that Amy was no longer the same person as she once was and now seemed more like a victim herself. I had a wild guess about what was going on in the larger way out there sense and I was right on how everything ended up coming together.

I was proud of Cammie at how much the self-defense classes were giving her some internal strength. She was learning so much and I was super happy for you!

I loved when Cammie told Bennett the truth and how she needed him to support her and not solve her problems!! I absolutely love this and think it's so relatable in every sense of life and all different experiences.

I loved when the pieces began to fall together although it was scary when everything began to go down. I was so proud of Cammie for everything she was able to do for herself!

The very end was awesome and I can't wait for more in this series!!

5 Stars
