Clementine Johns was attacked and left for dead and has no memory of the past. Now she is trying to put together the pieces and returns to the place where she possibly got her tattoo from but she does not receive a warm welcome.
Ed Larsen had his heart shattered by Clementine with no explanation but when she shows up at his shop he feels like he needs to help her although he is keeping her at a distance.
As Clem and Ed begin to get to know each other again Ed sees a different and more carefree Clem. But soon it is evident that someone is still after her and how far will Ed go to keep her safe?
Can Ed move on from the past and see a new Clem and open up his heart again?
This was such a great book and I loved it from start to finish.
My heart broke for Clem with being attacked and having no memory of what happened in the past and no idea why she broke up with Ed. It was clear that she was caring after everything she gave up to take care of her mom so I knew it had to have been something that made her doubt Ed.
Ed was such a great character and I loved that he went above the hurt to help Clem out. There was something about him that made me trust him right away and I could tell he never would have done anything to intentionally hurt her. I loved that he was so protective over her once the attacks began and he was worried about her.
The chemistry was always there between Clem and Ed but they had a lot of mistrust and unknowns to get over before anything developed between them again. I really liked that everything progressed slowly and the two really started from the beginning with Clem trying to figure out who she really is and in the process almost became someone new and more carefree in a sense.
I had an idea who I thought could be responsible for things and I was right but it was definitely not easy for Clem with what she was going through.
The end was awesome and made me so happy!! I can't wait for more from this author!
