My review of Eight by Jane Blythe

When Deacon Staines enters the Matilda Rose Women's and Children's Center no one has any idea how far he will go to get his wife, Macey, or daughter, Ella, back. The day turns to tragedy and the people left behind are trying to pick up the pieces, especially Sofia Xander who started the center.

But now the remaining hostages are being killed off and detectives Ryan Xander and his partner Paige must figure out who the killer is before they themselves are killed.

This is another great book in this series and I have been enjoying all of the books from start to finish.

This book had so many twists and turns that you have a sneaking suspicion about something but then realize that there is something deeper going on.

I was so proud of Sofia for doing what had to be done but the damage it did on her was huge! She began pulling away from everyone, specifically Ryan, and it was sad to watch her fall apart. I crossed my fingers that she would be able to recover and get the help that Ryan suggested to her.

Ryan and Paige were working so hard at following the clues that they got and yet at times they were almost being led in circles. They had their suspicions about certain individuals yet were never 100% sure.

The killer was so cold and calculated and you knew that they would not stop at anything to get what they wanted. I had my guess and I was right but I still needed to know what was behind it all and I was definitely shocked at what was revealed!

The end was definitely tense and I was curious to see how it was all going to go and who was going to be able to escape from the killer at the end!!

Can't wait for the next book!

5 Stars
