My review of A Wish For Us by Tillie Cole

Cromwell Dean is one of the hottest DJ's with his Electronic Dance Mixes. He is moving from Britain to the US to attend college where he spots a girl who once told him that his music is missing soul.

Bonnie Farraday loves music, especially folk and classical. She is attending college with hopes to strengthen her own ability in composing music. Her twin brother, Easton, is roommates with Cromwell and Cromwell is in her composition class.

When Bonnie and Cromwell are paired together in composition class they must discover a way for their two unique abilities to come together. Slowly Cromwell begins to find his light again around Bonnie but as Bonnie's own light begins to fade will Cromwell be able to keep his strong enough for the both of them?

This was such a fantastic story about healing from the past and coming to terms with an uncertain future.

It was so obvious right from the beginning the Cromwell was hurting and punishing himself to a certain degree by not letting his talent be shown to anyone anymore. He had so much guilt wrapped up that he turned to Electronic music in order to stop feeling. As the book goes on we learn why and come to understand why he has himself so boarded up from everyone around him.

Bonnie was such a light and she wanted to feel music as that was her happiness. She wanted to get a good mark in the class and didn't feel like Cromwell was in the right place for her to do it with. She had a lot of talent but needed some extra help and sometimes we would get glimpses of the Cromwell that she needed.

There were so many twists in the book that you aren't expecting that change the focus on the book and that put your heart through turmoil.

I loved when Cromwell begin to feel again and another side of him comes out that we know exists. The relationship he had with his professor, Lewis, allowed him to initially find an outlet for everything but then it turned upside down and into something entirely different.

Towards the end of the book I was completely heartbroken for what Easton was going through and I really hoped everything would be ok as he dealt with Cromwell and Bonnie.

The end started to gut me for sure and I had no idea if it was all too late. My heart was in pieces for sure but the author was able to piece some of it back together.

Such an amazing book with heartbreak and hope! Loved it!
