Full Blurb
It is Sonia Anderson’s first day on a new job; one that will change her life. The twenty-five-year-old bodyguard is well trained and highly recommended for the role of guarding Amy North. What her physiological evaluations don’t show though is the secrets she hides about her life growing up. The scars she bears representative of a world out of her control.

Matthew Carter is James North’s long-standing bodyguard, he is sharp and a master as his trade. However, the ex MI5 agent was responsible for the death of a colleague, not just a colleague but also his wife.

The revelations in Misguided Control are explored in Controlling Darkness. This is the fourth book from ‘The Control Series’, it tells the story of Matthew and Sonia and how the pain they both hold within them can become love.

The story features; fights, suspense, whips, and lots of love. You have been warned.

Step into the world of Control!

EXCERPT
Sonia, I am sorry to wake you, but I want to show you something. This is one of the main reasons I come to Pondicherry."
She turned over and rubbed her eyes, still sore from crying. "What time is it?
It is still dark."
"It is just before six. We have to leave at eight to make sure we get back. Are you okay to get up?"
"Yes, it is fine, I’m just a bit achy after the bike ride yesterday. Been a while since I have done that. What is it you wanted to show me?"
"Come to the window." Matthew got out of the bed, and all he was wearing was a pair of tight boxer shorts. Every other inch of his muscular body was on display. Sonia felt that view right between her legs. He did indeed have a backside she wanted to sink her teeth into. "Come on, you don't want to miss it!"
She pulled the blankets back, swung her legs out of the bed, and strode to the window. The hotel was on the seafront, and the sun was coming up, its pink, purple and amber tones appearing over the horizon. It was vast and unimpeded by clouds like it would be in England. It felt like she could almost reach out and touch it. In fact, she brought her hand up against the window pane. Matthew moved in behind her, and she felt his warm breath on the back of her head. His hand slid over the curve of her hip. His pressed his body into her, and she could feel his cock starting to twitch awake against her back. She turned in his arms and looked up at him. Neither of them spoke.
Matthew brought his lips down on hers. Sparks of electricity surged through her body as she parted them slightly. Matthew lifted her off her feet, and she wrapped her legs around his waist. Jesus. His cock was rock solid underneath her.
He laid her out on the bed and climbed on top of her. He made sure not to bear any weight on her, but his lips never left hers, not until he pulled back to look into her eyes again.
"You’re perfect, Sonia. You’re so beautiful. I want to make love to you. I don't ever want to stop."

Matthew has been one of my favourite characters since I started writing the Control Series. I’m so happy that I’ve finally got to tell his story. I knew that this story would be darker than the rest and I so glad with the way it has turned it. It is a story of how darkness cannot be allowed to shape you, instead you must use it to allow you to find the light. I really hope you enjoy it.

My review of Mine by Jenika Snow

Jana Banks used to do ballet until an injury forces her to leave her profession. Now she is desperate for a job and decides to apply at the local strip club in hopes of at least doing some sort of dancing.

Cole Savage is the owner of the club that Jana applies at and he knows once he has seen her that no other man will see her dance.

Now he just has to convince her of that.

This is another fun and quick read by the author with an alpha male that leaves you wanting more.

I loved the innocence of Jana and how she truly went to the strip club with an innocence around her which made her so appealing to Cole. I loved that he right away knew she was meant for him and he took care of her.

I also really liked that he continued to let her follow her dreams!

Great quick read!

Release Day Blitz - Mine (A Real Man #13) by Jenika Snow

Mine Release Day.jpg

That one word has never meant so much.

JANA

Ballet was my life, but after getting injured that dream faded. I still needed fast money, so I sucked up my pride and decided to strip.

All clubs could use a virgin stripper, right?

But from the moment I saw Cole Savage, owner of the strip club I was trying to get into, all rational thought left me.

He was dark and dangerous, and his personality screamed arrogance.
I wanted him, and by the way he looked at me I knew he wanted me as well.

But I should keep it strictly business, right?

COLE

From the moment I first saw Jana I wanted her. She needed a job at my club, but the possessive side of me rose up demanding she was only mine. I might have just met her, but I was already so damn territorial of her.

If she wanted a job I’d give her one, but she’d be keeping her clothes on.
I’ve been celibate for years, but it’s time to change that with her.

Jana would soon realize what it meant to be mine.

*Warning: This is a short story featuring an over-the-top possessive hero who makes no secret that the heroine his. It’s got dirty dancing, raunchy scenes, but is safe and has a Happily Ever After that comes with reading a Real Man story.

My cock was harder than I ever remembered it being, and the images of pushing her panties aside and shoving my dick inside of her played through my mind on repeat.

“I need you,” I said harshly, my voice nothing more than this guttural sound.

She didn’t tell me to stop, didn’t try to get out of my arms. In fact, she had her hands in my shirt at my back, holding on to me, keeping me close.

Once I was off the stage and standing back where my chair was, I put her on the ground and immediately cupped her cheek. “I could watch you all fucking night, baby, but I’m so hard for you.”

And before I knew what the hell she was doing, she slipped her hand down the front of my pants and pressed her open palm over my cock.

The arousal in me was so intense I nearly came.

She was breathing hard, fast, and I knew she was right here with me, knew she was ready for me. But I wanted to hear her say it, wanted her to tell me the words.

I tipped her chin back, made her look in my eyes, and said, “Tell me what you want.”

She took long seconds to answer, but when she did, I saw her pupils dilate and smelled her desire saturate the air. “I want you to be my first. I want you to own my virginity, Cole.”

I groaned, not able to help it, not able to even try and stop myself.

“I need to fuck you.” I couldn’t help but stare at her chest, at the way her breasts rose and fell, her cleavage showing over the hem of her bra.

“Take off the bra, baby. Let me see you. Let me make you feel even better.”

Her throat worked as she swallowed, and before I had to tell her again, she was removing the bra, showing me how hard her nipples were and how flushed her skin was.

“The panties, Jana. Get rid of the fucking panties.” And like a good girl, she was pushing her panties down her thighs.

My review of Ruckus by L.J. Shen

Rosie LeBlanc has been in love with Dean 'Ruckus' Cole since high school but when he chose to date her sister, Emilia, she knew she could never have him. Now she rents from him in New York and watches the parade of women he takes up to his room while trying to show how little she is interested in what he has going on.

Dean 'Ruckus' Cole is a man whore yet he has always had his eyes on Rosie. He constantly tells her that she will be his one day but his drinking and smoking weed is not helping his cause.

When Rosie and Dean head home for Emilia's wedding tensions are high with Rosie and her parents when they tell her that they want her to move home so they can be there for her and help her with her Cystic Fibrosis. This pushes Rosie closer to Dean but will he be able to provide her the stability that she needs?

As Dean battles his own past will it cost him his future with Rosie?

This was a great book and I loved that there was so much to overcome in this book.

Rosie was a strong character and really knew that life was fragile yet at the same time she didn't want anyone to get attached to her as she never wanted anyone to have to say goodbye to her. That broke my heart yet to a certain degree I understood. Her relationship with her ex ended as she didn't want marriage and kids as she felt at any moment she could die. Her relationship with Dean was interesting as they both really wanted the other but Rosie felt that she couldn't date her sister's ex-boyfriend even though she wanted him first.

I really enjoyed seeing the evolution of Dean and how much he changed his life for Rosie. He knew what he had to do to keep her and he was able to follow through until the one time he didn't and it had huge consequences. I felt so bad for Dean in what he learned about his past and could understand why he was so mad and felt betrayed.

I loved the chemistry between Dean and Rosie and absolutely loved the way Rosie talked and her attitude!

Looking forward to more from this series!

My review of Linda Gets Her Groove Thing by J.D. Frettier

Linda White is headed to Paris in the morning but first she needs her special package to be delivered - her new B.O.B.. But when things don't work out like they should Linda finds herself in the Green Room and is met by Dee Smeltzer and Bonnie Hampton.

Soon Linda finds herself getting a new body and revenge on her cheating ex-husband Grey and his mistress Misty.

This book is the second in the Green Room series and provides many laughs for the reader with of course some sexual twists.

I enjoyed Linda but I found the book quite short and never found myself getting too attached to her character as much as I had wanted to. I loved the revenge she was able to cook up with Dr.Draper and Edwina Star and that provided some laughs!

My review of Love by the Book by Angela Scavone

Jennifer Taylor's fairytale marriage to Jack has hit a rut and their life doesn't seem to have worked out the way they had planned it to. Now 4 kids later Jenny is desperate to spice up her love life with Jack by recreating scenes from her favorite books.

When one of her best friends suggests blogging about how the dates go Jenny agrees but when Jack finds out will they be able to get through the aftermath?

For me the book started off a little slow and then it got good and I didn't want to put it down. The book was so funny in how wrong everything seemed to go and it really makes the reader feel like they are not alone with their own struggles that they may or may not be having in their own lives.

Jenny is awesome for trying to get her love life with Jack back on track and honestly I just loved how everything went wrong but they still tried and in the process spent more time together. Jack obviously worked super hard to provide for his family and wasn't there all the time like he wanted to be.

I hated Jack's mom and thought she was so intentionally cruel to Jenny as was Mrs. Crammersten. Yet they definitely provided Jenny with some strength in overcoming what she was up against.

I was definitely worried towards the end of the book yet knew something was up after Krista's conversation with Jenny. Loved the ending of the book!

Great read!

Brownies!!

We had a wrap-up party for Mikaela's hockey team and at first I planned to make cupcakes but soon realized that I was not going to have enough time to bake them with the busy week I had.

So I cheated!

Mikaela and I each made a batch of brownies straight from the box and since I rarely do this I decided to let you know how everything turned out!

They were both so good!

Of the two I think I liked the Salted Caramel one more as in the middle of the brownie there was a treat of absolute goodness and deliciousness. The brownies were soft and chewy and the kids devoured them.

The other brownies were good as well and the kids are them just as fast. These ones had chunks of chocolate in them and they were good and chewy. These ones were perfect for the chocolate lover!

I find that kids don't care if something is homemade or not so I'm just as happy baking out of the box for them!

THE MOMMY DETECTIVES AND THE BINGO HALL MYSTERY by Alathia Paris Morgan

THE MOMMY DETECTIVES AND THE BINGO HALL MYSTERY
The Mommy Detectives series, book 1
by Alathia Paris Morgan

Blog Tour - The Sin Bin by Nikky Kaye

BECKETT
Lucy Solomon showed up to watch a hockey game in a luxury box wearing jeans and a hoodie, and she didn't give a puck who I was. Now the hotter it gets between us the better my team does on the ice, and I'm getting superstitious. I'm not skating around my feelings--I want to win the playoffs, and I want Lucy. But something's gotta give.

LUCY
After being in a grad school cave for two years, it made sense that I'd be drawn to a caveman. I melted for Beckett Hallstrom's brazen moves and boyish charm when we first met, but things exploded when I found out who he really was. Beck wants me to be his good luck charm, but the press is relentless and now my career is in jeopardy. Every competition has a loser and I'm afraid it's going to be me losing my heart.

Someone knocked on the door. We froze, breathing heavily and entwined together like a Rodin sculpture. It was too dark for me to see the expression on Beckett’s face when he called out casually, “Yeah?”
“I have that jersey for you, Mister Hallstrom,” a man said quietly. Discreetly.
Awkwardly, Beck removed his hands from every part of my body and turned to the door. He cracked it open, the outside light and sound slicing into the tiny room but thankfully I remained out of sight.
“We’re three up now,” I heard. “End of the second.”
“Shit, three? Okay, thanks.” Beck took a plastic bag from the guy. Then he leaned back against the closed door and reached out with one arm to flick the light back on.
At my position on the counter, the light was bright above my head. I squinted reflexively. And then when I realized how I probably looked, I wanted to turn off the lights and screw my eyes shut again. Oh my god, how embarrassing.
My legs were spread, my jeans gaping open and pushed down on my hips. I was practically sitting in the sink on top of his bespoke suit jacket, but at least my butt hadn’t turned on the water. Yet. My breasts quivered over the shelf bra of my athletic tank top, the tips still wet from his mouth. I was a slutty mess.
But Beck looked at me like I was the Stanley Cup turned into a chocolate fountain.
Without taking his eyes off me, he raised his right hand to his mouth and licked his first two fingers. If he were a metaphor, there would be canary feathers sticking out of his mouth.
“I, uh, just want you to know that this is not normal behavior for me, Beckett Hallstrom,” I said shakily. Understatement of the year.
I couldn’t help it. I closed my eyes. Maybe if I couldn’t see him, he wouldn’t be there. But he was there, all right. I heard the rustle of the plastic and the stretchy snick of him ripping off the price tag. And his rough chuckle.
“It’s not exactly routine for me either, Lucy…” He trailed off as we both realized he didn’t know my last name. My embarrassment graduated to humiliation, and my eyes flew open as he pulled me off the sink. “Careful, there.”
With surprising gentleness he tucked me back in and zipped me back up, before slipping a jersey over my head. The guy he’d sent had actually found one for the opposing team, which I suspected was hard to find in the home team’s store. It was big on me, but so was Beck.
“Solomon. Lucy Solomon.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lucy Solomon.”
His mouth quirked as he pulled my hair out from under the collar of the jersey, like he’d done earlier with his jacket. This time, though, he wound my hair around his wrist and tugged my head back to expose my neck. He pressed his mouth to my thumping pulse, nipping softly.
I sighed. “The pleasure was all mine.”
He stepped back, adjusting his slacks with a wince and shoving half his shirt back into his waistband. “I wish my name was on your back,” he said.
“You used to play?”
He nearly bent in half with mirth. “Oh, Jesus.” He laughed so hard and so long that I wished I knew the punch line. If he didn’t stop soon, he would be the punch line.
“Ahem?” I crossed my arms over my chest.
Outside I heard the distinct sounds of another goal for the home team. Not Andy’s team. Not Beck’s team. We both looked to the door. How long had we been in here, anyhow?
I blinked at him. He reached behind me and plucked his wrinkled suit jacket out of the sink. Now that I was extra embarrassed about. “Sorry.”
He shrugged. “Casualty of war. We should…”
“Yeah, we should. I’m sure people are waiting for you.” I tugged the jersey down over my thighs. It was big enough for me to wear it as a dress. Maybe next time.
He traced my lips with his broad thumb, pressing his own lips together in an obvious effort not to laugh at me. “You’re fucking adorable, Lucy. You really don’t know who I am, do you?”
“Should I? I already told you I’m not into hockey.”
In fact, I came from the least athletic family on the planet. It was a shock to my computer programming parents that Andy was even tangentially working in sports. Frankly I was proud that I knew hockey was measured in periods and not quarters. With regards to my knowledge of the sport, the bar was pretty low.
“That is the adorable part that I’m looking forward to fucking.”
“You’re pretty sure of yourself, aren’t you?”
He smirked. “Let’s say, confident.”
“Cocky.”
“If you want.”
Hmmm. I did want.
