My review of Sexy Sinner by Eva Charles

Liam Dailey is on his way to becoming a doctor and finds the most peace when he is helping others and busy at the hospital. He is not ready for love and knows he must come to terms with events from his past before he is able to move forward in most of the aspects of his life. When his co-workers pull a prank on him he has no clue what it may lead to.

Juliana Clayton is a defense attorney and the baby of her family. She grew up privileged but has worked hard to overcome the difficulties in her life and is determined to succeed and not let anyone get in her way. When she agrees to help pull off a prank on Liam she is intrigued by the sexy doctor but knows it's not going to go anywhere.

When chance leads to Liam rescuing Juliana they spend a night together but then Juliana is gone. With both Liam and Juliana having secrets about their past will they be able to overcome them all, especially with Liam hating Juliana's profession?

This was such a good book about finding love when you least expect it and also really having trust and belief that you can overcome all the differences and come out on top.

Liam was to a certain degree a complicated guy as he had the loss of his mother and the events surrounding it which pushed him into one thing but due to his jerk of a father he gave everything up and he felt like he ran from the pressure. Then he returned to his passion of helping people but was still really conflicted. I don't think he really ever understood some of the trauma he had gone through until a conversation later in the book with Cole Harrington.

Juliana had her own personal issues after the death of her parents and being raised by her grandma and older siblings and cousins with being the baby of the family. She felt like she had so much to do to prove her value to all of them and with that "pay" them back for everything they did for her. I loved a conversation she had with her Grandma that really explained things to her in a different light and she began to understand things differently.

There was so much chemistry between Liam and Juliana but there was so much holding them each back from getting into a relationship. Liam was super hurt after the first night and Juliana realized she made a mistake and both realized that they wanted something but were afraid to define it. I liked how they began to figure out what they wanted but it felt like as soon as they began to get somewhere a secret would come out and set them back.

The differences in the dynamics of the family played a huge part and my heart broke for Liam, especially after an incident at the hospital. On the other hand Juliana's family was so welcome to Liam except initially some of the guy cousins but when Liam helped Lily everything turned out for the good.

The big incident at the hospital was huge and I was definitely afraid for what was going to happen both during and after. I was more on Liam's side for sure but I did feel bad for Juliana. I was a little confused about what her boss was making her do but then everything clicked into place!

The very end was awesome and I really hope we get more of these characters!!
