Violet Townsend catches her fiance Harrison Morgan cheating on her at their engagement party at her parents house. She has always been the perfect daughter but is now searching for her identity and trying to figure out what she wants from life. She reaches out to her oldest friend Callie to try and figure things out.
Chain Alexander is a very wealthy man who puts up outdoor malls and is used to getting what he wants from any woman. Through his best friend David, who is dating Callie, he meets Violet who right away catches his eye. David begs Chain to stay away from Violet due to her recent break up but he has a hard time staying away.
When Violet and Chain end up together will one night be enough? When Violet is clear she doesn't want Chain will he be able to convince her differently? Will Harrison give up on Violet so easily?
I enjoyed this book and found the characters really interesting.
Violet was thrown for a loop with Harrison and through the book she learned more and more things but he still wanted a second chance with her. I was shocked that he kept asking her over and over and that he wouldn't accept her no. Violet wanted to be free yet enjoyed her time with Chain and what they had together yet she didn't want to get back into a relationship.
Chain was funny as he had never felt this way before with a woman and was so confused that Violet was turning him down. He really loved her and would do anything to keep her safe. He wants to abide by her rules but it is driving him crazy that she won't fully commit.
Philip was such an ass and I was surprised that both David and Chain were friends with him. He definitely terrified me and I don't know if anyone can stop where he's headed.
The end was a total cliffhanger and I am crossing my fingers everything turns out ok!
