My review of Private Property by Skye Warren

Jane Mendoza is 19 years old and has moved to become a live-in nanny for a six year old. She has grown up in foster homes since the death of her father and she knows the only way she can afford to go to school is with the money from this job. Yet she is leaving behind her best friend, Noah, who was also in foster care with her.

Beau Rochester never expected to be raising his niece and is not prepared at all for the job. He is extremely bitter over the past and it looks like he wants nothing to do with Paige. Yet there is a past with Beau but he's not ready to let anyone in.

As Jane helps out with Paige she finds herself attracted to Beau but knows she can't cross the line with her boss. As Beau digs into Jane's past he finds things that anger him and make him confused about how he feels.

Can Jane find a different side of Beau that no one else sees?

This was such a great book and the worst part is now having to wait for the next one!!

Jane is such an amazing character. She had been through so much in her life and I really admired her for never giving up. Even with everything that Jane had been through in the past she was still a little naïve and I found it refreshing. She was determined to stick to her goals and hold onto everything that was important to her.

Beau was the biggest jerk in the world and I was not a fan at the beginning of the book at all. He was so moody and cold and I really felt sorry for Paige with how he treated her. I get that he was hurting over some issues in the past but Paige was innocent in everything. I have some guesses over what happened in his past but we really don't learn enough in this book.

There was definitely attraction between Beau and Jane right from the beginning of the book but she did not want to jeopardize her job at all plus there was a large age gap. Beau knew he wasn't any good for Jane and needed to keep her away from him as she knew nothing about him and his past.

I liked how Jane gradually gained Paige's trust and was able to help her with everything, especially her schoolwork. I loved how Jane got Paige to complete it and how they formed a friendship.

I thought things were getting better between Jane and Beau but after a certain incident I was so mad that Beau called Zoey. That whole part made me so mad but then Beau couldn't deal with everything that happened after when Jane received attention from others.

The end was absolutely shocking and I wasn't expecting it at all and now I desperately need the next book!!

5 Stars
