My review of Whispers in the Dark by LeTeisha Newton

Alana Rose Masters goes to Northside Prep high school when she is taken one morning and held captive by "Master". As she is held she is somewhat protected by Celia Whittaker, another girl being held, and by Jacob, the son of "Master".

As time goes on Alana begins to develop feelings for Jacob so when the chance comes to escape will she take it? Will Alana ever escape the darkness that surrounds her and will she fall victim to what she was trying to escape?

This was a very dark book and definitely may set off triggers for some people.

My heart broke for Alana and Celia for what they endured by Master. He was so cruel and sadistic and through that I felt bad for Jacob as he really didn't stand much of a chance to grow up even close to being normal.

There were so many sad moments and even in the middle when everything changed I knew there was no way that Alana would truly be able to escape what she went through and move on.

I was so mad at frustrated at Jacob for where he put Alana knowing what she went through in the past and I was definitely not surprised at what ended up happening between the two of them.

The ending was definitely touch and go for a little bit!
