Maggie Wilson owns Honeysuckle Hotel that her grandparents once owned and she is a well liked member of town. When her hotel catches on fire she is forced to rely on others as she waits for the hotel to be rebuilt.
Theo Black is a firefighter and rescues Maggie from the fire. They have been friends for years and he offers that Maggie can stay with him while everything gets sorted out.
Maggie hates relying on anyone, especially Theo whom she has always had a crush on. When Maggie seems to be around other fires Theo knows he'll do whatever he can to keep her safe but he's had his heart burned in the past so is he willing to risk it again?
This is another great book that I really enjoyed!
I really liked meeting Maggie in the last book and knew she was someone that was really well liked and extremely giving. I hated how she had nightmares every night and how she was really struggling mentally because of everything she had gone through in the past. I was devastated for her that someone set the hotel on fire on purpose and had no regard for anyone's life.
Theo was a great character who had no desire for any relationship due to his past relationships and trying to go "further" with other friends that didn't progress. Yet Theo was still an incredible friend and really wanted to keep Maggie safe.
Maggie was hurting and really wanted Theo to make her forget everything that was going on but I also realized that there was no way that Maggie could keep from developing feelings for Theo which could cause some conflict.
The man after Maggie definitely hated her but when Maggie reveals the truth to Abe about her past my jaw hit the ground and things began to fall into place.
Towards the end things got super intense and I was freaking out for what could happen. I did feel awful for the other person involved as it was apparent that he had been hurt and betrayed in the past as well.
I was super happy when Theo finally realized how he felt and Maggie gave him another chance!
