Gemma Marlon is a yoga teacher who has come to Alaska for a fresh start and away from everything that happened to her at home. She isn't sure how long she will stay but her attraction to one of the local pilots in town makes her want to figure things out.
Diego Jackson is a pilot with Walker Adventures and had a past relationship that has soured him on future ones. Yet there is something about the new sassy yoga teacher in town making him question what he wants in life.
As Gemma and Diego begin to get to know each other, Gemma's past comes back and she must decide what she is ready to tell Diego. Yet when something happens she will discover if Diego is really ready to trust her or if he isn't prepared to risk his heart once again.
I really liked Gemma and got why she needed a fresh new start after everything she had gone through. Things like what she went through make me so angry and my heart really broke for her as she did the right thing and nothing came about. I loved the property she rented and all of the adventures with the animals! I laughed so many times with that darn horse!
Diego was a broody pilot who had gotten a broken heart in the past and was still hung up about it. He was definitely worried about trying to find someone again and his heart really guarded but still had some flings with no strings. I loved his friendships with the rest of the guys and how they all stayed together after the air force.
There was so much chemistry between Diego and Gemma but there was an underlying issue of trust that was missing for both of them. Both of them had been hurt in the past in different ways which was a huge stumbling block.
I liked that Gemma and Diego got to know each other more and more and how Diego rescued Gemma a few times. I also liked Gemma's friendship with Daphne and how Daphne really had her back when she needed a friend.
Diego's sister made me so mad at times as she really made Diego question everything and made him doubt Gemma when he had no reason to.
I was happy when both of them came clean about their respective pasts and how that enabled them to move forward! I was so proud of Gemma for what she did as it was the right thing to do!
A good story and looking forward to more coming!
