Jules Vandelson is the heir to Rock Beach Resort and has been completely controlled by her parents for as long as she can remember. She was taken away from her cousin and the high school she was attending to move to a private school in order to mix with people who would come stay at the resort.
When Jules is kidnapped from Rock Beach Resort and taken to her cousin Laurel's coffee shop, Ocean Roasters, she loses her memory regarding the events that resulted in her being injured. Yet the events make Jules question what she wants to do with her life and she knows she wants something different than what her parents have planned.
Mick Madison has been attracted to Jules from the first moment he saw her but they come from two different backgrounds. Yet in a moment he did what it took to protect Jules and will need to do everything he can to keep the truth hidden but the problem is that he has trouble staying away from her.
As Jules questions the strange behavior of her parents recently she also decides she is ready to follow her own path but knows she has to do it without them finding out.
Will Jules be able to follow her own path or do her parents already have everything planned out for her?
This was such a great book and I loved it from start to finish!!
Jules was such an awesome character and I loved how sheltered she was with her parents until the death of her grandpa which brought her cousin, Laurel, back into her life. I loved how accepting Laurel was of Jules and how she knew that she wasn't responsible for losing touch. I also loved that Laurel was willing to do whatever she could to help Jules get her life back on track and able to follow her own dreams.
I loved Mick and how dedicated he was to Jules yet as much as he knew he had to stay away from her, he just couldn't. He cared so much about her but spending time with her could bring back her memories which was a danger to Mick.
I really liked watching Mick and Jules getting to know each other more and more through the book and also watching Jules evolve into her own person. I liked the friendship that Jules formed with her nurse, Gwen, and how the two became very close.
I really wasn't surprised with what Ace Covington revealed to Jules about her parents and I knew that was going to play a bigger role in the book.
I loved how everything began to spiral towards the book as Jules became vocal about what she wanted for her own life and how that differed from her parents wanted. I knew her parents would play dirty and it made me mad how they did.
I loved how those events completely empowered Jules and how she was able to get things straightened out for her own life with great support around her!!
The end was awesome and I can't wait for more in this series!!!
5 Stars
