My review of Grenade by Annie Dyer

This is book 2 in the series and book 1 needs to be read first.

Ben Smith has a lot to deal with in this book and he is feeling the pressure from all sides and he is torn in how to keep the princess and his lover, Blair Stewart, safe from those who killed her brother Lennox.

Ben is treading in thin water as his sister, Majken is pressuring him for information on what Blair's political plans are and threatening the safety of both Blair and their father.

Also entering the picture is Isaac Everleigh who has been a lover to Ben in the past but is also attracted to Blair and the three soon start a physical relationship with all three risking their hearts. Yet who can they fully trust as Isaac is tied to the British Prime Minister, William Goldsmith.

This book is so good and I didn't want it to end!!! There is so much in this book and some left me with my jaw hanging down to the ground and it is apparent at how much Ben has been through and how he would truly risk everything to keep Blair safe from what is following him around.

I really like Ben and I know he is treading a fine line as his sister is holding something over his head and he really doesn't want to help her but at the same time he is somewhat forced to as he is trying to keep Blair safe from whomever Majken is involved with.

The stuff Ben went through living with his Aunt Hedde was awful yet I found their visit intriguing and the clues left from the cards gave us an insight of what was going to happen.

I truly loved the relationship between Ben and Blair and how much they loved each other yet were afraid to label it to their social differences and roles in society. They both found peace with each other and a bond that was sizzling!!

When we throw Isaac in the mix between Blair and Ben things just go through the roof in hotness and OMG moments! These three are intense and just awesome together. I love their differences and how they are all dedicated to each other and would do anything for each other. Love them!!

Then there are all the betrayals in this book and other moments that keep you wondering what is going on. I don't trust Elise at all and I wasn't really surprised with who she began to spend time with as she seems to be using whoever she can to get her name out in the public.

Yet things take an interesting turn at one point when you learn that everything that you thought was trying to happen isn't what was really planned at all. Left me so surprised and shocked as you realize how many people have just been pawns in a much bigger game.

The very end left me with my jaw hanging down as I knew things were going to happen and I also knew from the cards what Ben was planning on doing. Yet I am also given hope by the cards that the stuff he has done to protect Blair will all be worth it in the end and that everything will work out how I want it to!!

5 Stars
