I do not have a Tic Tok account nor do I want one but my son has one and started following "Food Coma Eats". Then he rushed over to show me a burger that the guy made based upon one at a restaurant in Sydney, Australia called Bar Luca.
The burger is called Blame Canada and being Canadian we knew we had to give it a try!
So Bren asked me to pick up the ingredients and he would make everything himself and only get my help when needed. Bren just turned 13 a couple of weeks ago but has always liked helping me and has recently become the Grill King at home which has worked out awesome for me!
We picked up the gourmet burger buns as we knew we had to have a burger that was going to hold up with everything that was going to go onto them.
The first thing that Bren did was cook the bacon. He cooked the bacon in the oven but poured maple syrup over all the strips of bacon. Keep in mind that the oven most likely will become smoky without anything burning. I was initially panicking a little but we turned on the fan and had the patio door open which helped. The next thing that we did was put the fries in the oven and Bren got the gravy going as well.
Next he took the ground beef and mixed in Burger Seasoning from Epicure as well as barbeque sauce. The epicure seasoning is awesome and full of flavor! I highly recommend picking it up if you have a chance.
Next Bren began to grill the burgers and as he was doing that I made some Maple Aioli which is just mayonnaise and maple syrup. I did find that it took awhile to get the right consistency but I was adding the maple syrup very slow as I didn't know how much would be enough.
Once the burgers were cooked Bren added the cheese and then we were ready to put it all together after he toasted the buns up a little.
On the bottom of the bun went the fries, cheese curds and then it was topped with gravy. Then the next step was adding the burger and then the maple bacon. The top of the bun had the maple aioli and it was done!
This burger was amazing and all three of us loved it!! There was so much flavour and everything went together so well!
I truly can't wait to see what Bren makes next!!
