My review of Art of War by Monique Orgeron

Zander Stern is from the powerful Stern family, headed by his mother, Catherine. When they are owed some money they are set on collecting what is owed to them, as no one crosses the Stern family.

When Murphy Larussa learns that her father is dying, her mother begs her to go see him in New Orleans to make peace. Soon she discovers that she has inherited a casino, much to the dismay of her father's wife Judith, but she has also has inherited a very large debt.

When Zander and Murphy meet for the first time sparks fly and Zander knows that she is the one he wants. But does Murphy feel the same and when they discover their true identities where will their loyalties lay? Will Murphy guard her heart at all costs, even if it means living without love?

This was another amazing read in this series and I loved it!

So I absolutely loved Zander!! He was the "heavy" in the family business and went to collect debts whenever it was due and people definitely feared him. Yet there was something about Murphy that absolutely brought him to his knees and he had never been "left" before. He was dedicated to his family but he wanted to protect Murphy above all else.

So I did really like Murphy and then about half way through the book I was so mad at her for how she was treating Zander. It was obvious how much he cared about her and she did her best to push him away from her at all costs and I was beyond mad at her when she tried running.

I loved how Murphy's mom, Cherry, knew Catherine and Theo Trahan from the past and how that came into play in the book. I loved how Cherry really knew what Murphy needed, even if she didn't at the time. I loved the secrets that were revealed in this book and everything that came out from it!

The ending was absolutely incredible and I loved how it all ended!!

I can't wait for the next book and I never want this series to end!
