My review of The Priest by S.R. Jones

Roze Muka is 19 years old when she is taken captive as a pawn in a war that her dad is waging with an opposite faction within the Starz Alliance. Her father, Gezim, is part of the Mafia and although Roze knows nothing that is happening she has found herself in a dangerous situation.

Priest is the man that is involved with extracting Roze from the house where she is being held and then protecting her until it is safe for her to return home.

Priest has his own demons yet there is something about the innocence of Roze that seems to ease his mind. Yet it is clear that the two are still in a lot of danger and they must figure out who they can trust.

Can Roze ever see Priest as more than just the "hero" that rescued her and can he live up to her expectations when he has nothing to offer her?

This was such an amazing book and I loved it from start to finish!!

I felt terrible for Roze as she was caught in a terrible situation that was not her fault but she had been born into a dangerous lifestyle. I loved that she had certain opinions about things and she was prepared to give up her relationship with her dad if she found out that he was doing certain criminal activities.   Roze was a little naïve but at the same time she wasn't due to the environment that was around her growing up.

Priest was just absolutely awesome and I wish he'd come rescue me!! Priest had his own demons, especially while he tried to sleep but being around Roze offered him some peace. It was clear that he had been through a lot in the past and had so much guilt and PTSD because of it. Yet he was determined to keep Roze safe by all means necessary.

There was so much chemistry between Roze and Priest but Priest had a view valid concerns. He was concerned about the fact that it was his job to keep her safe, she was young and also that she viewed him as a hero, which he didn't feel like he was. He thought the real him may be a let down to what she had made up in her mind.

I loved the possessive side that we saw once Giovanni Bianchi entered the picture and how it completely changed the whole dynamic and everything that was going on. The scenes after an altercation were definitely hot and I was so happy for how things were going.

I was very disappointed in Roze's father for the stuff he said and what the led to but I was very happy that Priest did his job.

The very end was super awesome and I loved what Roze wanted to do with her life!!

The second epilogue was so good and I can't wait to see what happens with Cole next!

5 Stars
