Barbecue Spice Burgers

 We are finally using the BBQ more - even in the awful weather and Bren is back to being the BBQ master. 

This was a recipe I wanted to make for awhile as it looked super good and I was curious to try the bacon weave.

So first off I used angus beef and not a special combination that I would have to ground myself. Maybe one day I will give it a try but it honestly won't be anytime soon. 

I tried making the bacon weaves in the fry pan but all but one fell apart so obviously I didn't wait long enough before trying to flip them. Next time I will try it in the oven as I really love the idea of it. I don't know if it made a difference that I used a maple bacon instead of a thicker bacon that may have been more sturdy.

I loved the mixture of spices that went on the burger and found them so full of flavor. 

Now because we used maple mayonnaise we actually made a maple aioli instead of the garlic sriracha one. This was still super good and I love using this on burgers.

We also cheated with the tempura onions and used French's instead as we were short of time and needed to get the food cooking! 

These burgers are so full of flavour and can't wait to use the spice mix more!
